I started out in photography way back in 1987 when I landed my dream job as a photographer for the local paper. Having been interested in photography from a very young age, this was the perfect opportunity to gain valuable experience in a wide range of assignments photographing everything from local fates to royal visits, sports and advertising.
I have seen many changes over the years, both in terms of equipment we use and the styles of photography. I learned the art of photography in the 'good old days' of film, using 35mm for press work and medium format cameras for weddings. In more recent years, with the invention of digital cameras, we have now moved into a new era where the boundaries of what was possible with film have been stretched, and now taking the image is only the start of the creative process. The next biggest change is in the styles of photography. 30 years ago, weddings were a far more formal affair than they are today, and with this experience I have adapted my style to a balanced blend of tradition and modern contemporary.
Technology has enabled us to do what was once impossible, and in order to be able to provide the very best images, we have invested in top of the range equipment. There is for example a subtle but all important difference in a pro lens costing over £1000 to a kit lens supplied with most consumer cameras not to mention lighting and light modifiers to create shape and add dimension to the images. As such, we have a comprehensive equipment list and the all important knowledge and creative skills to tackle a wide range of assignments to the highest possible standard.
For as long as I can remember, photography has paid a huge part in my life. It is a passion that has given me immense pleasure throughout the years, and something I can never imagine myself ever not doing.
Meet the Team
Dave Sophie Lliam
I am very pleased to introduce you to Sophie Davies & Lliam Green.
Sophie is a very talented photographer who once upon a time worked for a well known, National chain of photographic studios. As a result, what one company used to charge hundreds or even thousands of pounds for, we can offer the same techniques for a fraction of the price.
You will see Sophie working along side me at weddings, shooting video clips and reportage style images, in the studio and at events we cover.
Lliam is a technical and marketing whizz - what he doesn't know about computers, wireless transmitters and technology in general just isn't worth knowing! Lliam will often assist us at events ensuring all the technical aspects of the event run smoothly.
